“Ashes of the Damned” in Black Ops 7 Zombies is huge—way bigger than most players expect. With a map that size, you can bet Treyarch has packed it full of secrets. Sure, the main Easter Eggs always grab the spotlight, but it’s the smaller hidden objectives that really make the game feel alive. One of the coolest distractions has to be the ARC-XD race. It’s like dropping into Mario Kart right in the middle of a zombie nightmare, giving you a fun break from survival and a chance to score solid loot. If you’ve been grinding runs through the undead and want to know where the controller spawns, this guide’s for you—and it’s honestly as useful as jumping into a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby to polish skills before racing. Unlocking the Track Before you even touch the controller, you’ve got to clear the path around the Zarya Cosmodrome. That means almost every single door needs to be open—except for Yuri’s Lab, which can stay sealed. The shutters at the bottom of the stairs near the jump pad and Exfil phone booth? Those have to be lifted to reach Support Systems. You’ll also need access to the Flame Trench underneath the rocket, either by buying the gate on the top level or the connecting door from Support Systems. Once everything’s open, you’re all set to race. Where to Find the Controller The ARC-XD controller can show up in three different spots, but figuring out which one doesn’t take long if you know where to look. The first place to check is the Crashed Plane area. Stick close to the north wall until you see a broken tree lying across the ground—most players find the controller tucked right behind it. If it’s not there, time to move. Lost Cabins Location Next, head to the Lost Cabins between Ashwood and Blackwater Lake. The whole area’s covered in fog, so take your time. You want the cabin nearest the lake. Inside, go upstairs and look for a suitcase sitting on a table beside the couch. Nine times out of ten, the controller’s right there next to it, waiting to be picked up. Grounded Ship Challenge The third spot’s a bit of a climb. Make your way to the Grounded Ship between Varndorn Farm and Ashwood. Once you’re on the deck, park Tessie—your mount—right next to a window on the south side. You’ll have to climb on top of her to see up toward the roof. Look closely at the corner; the controller’s sitting there, almost hidden but definitely reachable. It’s tricky, but doable once you get the hang of it. Starting the Race After you find the controller, hit the interact button to begin. If you’re playing solo, the race kicks off instantly. In a squad, everyone’s got to vote to start, so make sure the team’s on the same page. Once the countdown ends, speed’s everything—drive that ARC-XD through the Cosmodrome course, dodge zombies, and aim for the best lap time possible. The quicker you finish, the better the loot Mr. Peeks drops at the end. It’s fast, chaotic, and just pure fun, right up there with grinding a buy BO7 Bot Lobbies session with friends when you need a breather from the undead.
